Refund policy

At TN Cedar & Copper Studio, every piece is handcrafted, made to order, and built specifically for each customer’s space, style, and selected details. Because of the custom nature of our work, we do not accept standard returns, exchanges, or cancellations once a custom order has entered production.

Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

Custom Order Policy

All dining tables, desks, coffee tables, sofa tables, entryway tables, bistro tables, accent tables, benches, and other custom furniture pieces are made to order.

Because each piece is built specifically for the customer, all custom furniture sales are considered final once production has begun.

Custom features may include, but are not limited to:

Size and dimensions
Tabletop thickness
Base style
Wood selection and finish
Copper details
Copper tone, patina, or darkened finish
Epoxy depth and finish
Chair, bench, or seating needs
Delivery or shipping requirements

Natural variation in wood grain, knots, color, copper tone, patina, texture, epoxy appearance, and handcrafted details should be expected. These variations are part of the character of handmade furniture and are not considered defects.

Cancellations

Orders may be canceled only before materials have been purchased or production has begun.

Once materials are purchased, design work has started, or production has begun, cancellations may not be eligible for a full refund. Any approved cancellation may be subject to deductions for materials, design time, administrative time, processing fees, or work already completed.

Because each project is custom built, deposits may be non-refundable once the order has moved into the production process.

Returns

We do not accept returns on custom-made furniture due to buyer’s remorse, incorrect measurements provided by the customer, change of style preference, color expectation differences, inability to fit the item into the home, or changes in the customer’s space after ordering.

Please confirm all measurements, delivery access, finish preferences, and design details before final approval.

If you have concerns before placing an order, please contact us so we can talk through your space, style, and vision before the build begins.

Shipping & Delivery Damage

We take care to package and prepare each piece for shipment as safely as possible. However, once an item is in the hands of the shipping carrier or freight company, shipping damage must be handled through the carrier’s damage claim process.

Please inspect your delivery immediately upon arrival.

If your item arrives damaged:

Take clear photos of the packaging before opening, if damage is visible.
Take clear photos of the damaged area, packaging, crate, pallet, labels, and delivery receipt.
Keep all original packaging, crate materials, pallet materials, and shipping documents.
Contact TN Cedar & Copper Studio within 24–48 hours of delivery.
Do not discard packaging until the shipping claim is resolved.

Failure to report damage promptly or failure to keep packaging may limit or prevent a shipping damage claim.

If a shipment is delivered by freight carrier, please inspect the item before signing whenever possible. If damage is visible, note the damage on the delivery receipt before accepting the shipment.

Repairs, Replacements & Resolutions

If an item arrives damaged or there is a confirmed issue with the build, TN Cedar & Copper Studio will work with you to determine the appropriate resolution.

Depending on the situation, this may include:

A repair recommendation
Replacement of a damaged component
A partial refund
Assistance with a shipping insurance claim
A remake or replacement only when appropriate and approved

Full refunds are not automatically provided for shipping damage, cosmetic variation, natural material differences, or minor repairable issues.

Because we are a small handmade furniture studio, we reserve the right to determine whether repair, replacement, partial refund, or another resolution is the most appropriate solution.

Customer Measurement & Access Responsibility

The customer is responsible for confirming that the item ordered will fit the intended space and can be delivered into the home or building.

Please measure:

Room dimensions
Doorways
Hallways
Stairways
Elevators
Entry turns
Driveway or delivery access
Final placement area

TN Cedar & Copper Studio is not responsible if a custom piece cannot fit through doors, hallways, stairways, elevators, or into the intended room due to incorrect or incomplete customer measurements.

Delays

Because each piece is handcrafted, timelines are estimates and may vary due to material availability, weather, production schedule, finish curing time, copper work, epoxy curing, or shipping coordination.

If a significant delay occurs, we will communicate with you as soon as possible. If we are unable to fulfill or ship an order within the agreed timeline, we will work with you on an updated timeline or appropriate resolution.

Non-Refundable Costs

The following costs may be non-refundable once incurred:

Custom materials
Copper materials
Wood slabs or lumber
Epoxy and finish materials
Design and consultation time
Labor already completed
Payment processing fees
Shipping, freight, packaging, crating, or delivery coordination costs
Custom seating or sourced components

Final Sale Items

All custom furniture items are final sale once production begins.

This includes custom tables, desks, benches, copper-top pieces, cedar furniture, custom dimensions, custom finishes, and any piece built specifically for the customer.
